Welcome to a new year of children’s ministries at Christ the King church.  We count it a privilege and blessing to serve the children of our church families and visitors.  The elders have concluded that “the faithful ministry of God’s Word” is bedrock to our purpose as a church.  Our vision is to be a place of Biblical teaching, nurturing, training and equipping – partnering with parents to raise our children to follow Christ, to develop character that reflects His holiness, and to proclaim His works for His glory.  We tell of Christ’s love by sharing the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the children of the Fox Valley.

Our goals for this year are to:

• Enhance/refine the programs already in place
• Focus on teacher training
• Plan outreach events for CTK children and their friends, neighbors, etc.

We want to extend our thanks and appreciation to all the teachers, helpers, and servants who are committed to children’s ministries.  Our faithful God continues to guide us and provide for our needs.  Please join us in praying that God will use our human efforts to bear spiritual fruit in the lives of the children.

  9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Sunday School Hour

Nursery (ages 6 weeks to 2 years) - Babies are given loving care in a nurturing, safe environment. Low caregiver-to-baby ratios are maintained to ensure optimal coverage.  

Children’s Sunday School (ages 2 – 8^th grade) – Children attend one of the following age-appropriate classes to learn Biblical truths and how to follow Jesus:

• Toddler 2’s & 3’s (ages 2 & 3)
• Preschool 4’s/Kindergarten (ages 4 – Kindergarten)
• Primary (1^st – 2^nd grades)
• Junior (3^rd – 5^th grades)
• Middle School (6^th – 8^th grades)

The teaching foundation of our children’s Sunday School is the Show Me Jesus curriculum published by Great Commission Publications. The curriculum was chosen based upon these principles:

• Redemptive-Historical Perspective– view of the Bible as the complete, unified counsel of God
• A God-ward Focus– as we encounter any Biblical truth, it teaches us about God and ultimately elicits worship from us as we discover him to be the sovereign Creator, Redeemer and King
• Show Me Jesus– the subject of Scripture is God’s unfolding story of salvation and Jesus is its focus
• God’s Covenant of Grace– From Genesis to Revelation, covenant (and God’s constant faithfulness) is the thread that ties the Bible together
• The Home Link– Parents are key in the spiritual training of their children, thus we provide resources for them to reinforce the solid teaching children receive at church
